NOTCHI
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
The short version
Notchi has no accounts, no server, no analytics and no trackers. Everything the app
knows about you — coins, streaks, focus minutes, achievements, your pet's vitals — is
stored locally on your Mac in UserDefaults and never leaves it.
What we collect
Nothing. We have no backend, so we couldn't collect anything even if we wanted to.
The only network requests the app can make
- Weather widget (off by default): if you enable it, the app asks
ipapi.cofor your approximate location (that service sees your IP address) andopen-meteo.comfor the forecast. - Album artwork: when music is playing, the app may fetch cover art
from a URL provided by Spotify, or look the song up on Apple's public iTunes Search API
(
itunes.apple.com) for radio/streams.
Nothing else makes a network request — not the AI voice (generated on-device with Apple's Foundation Models), not the focus stats, not the share card.
Distraction detection
During focus sessions Notchi checks which app is frontmost to know when you've drifted to a time-sink. That check happens entirely on your Mac and is never stored beyond the session or transmitted anywhere.
